Lonnie and I were Army comrades and friends at Fort Devens, Massachusetts and in the late 1970's when we served together in the 46th Combat Support Hospital. He was a character, friendly and with a bit of a edgy personality; as that has been a few years ago now, I can't remember too many details. But Lonnie was a bit of an unforgettable soldier and I liked him, as did most everyone. I am sorry to hear of his passing away and I a glad to hear that Lonnie knew the Lord. Look forward to seeing him in Heaven. God Bless his family and friends Rodger & Betty Smith

I only just found out about Lonnie's passing. What a shame. I first met him at Fort Devens back in '69 where he was my barracks sergeant. We met up many times over our military career and I was always happy to see that wonderful smile. Lonnie was a good man, loved and respected by many. I will miss him always. Welcome Home, brother.
