Dear Family & Friends of Christian L. Whitten Jr., Although we did not personally know Mr. Whitten, we were sorry to learn of his unfortunate death. And while we do not know exactly how you feel, God certainly knows accurately how you feel. Therefore, he will lovingly forever eliminate death. Good news indeed! (1 John 4:8, Isa. 25:8, Rev. 21:3,4, John 5:28, 29) For now though, we naturally mourn the death of someone that we love because God did not create humans to die. Death is not natural because the bible stated at Geneses 1:27 " In God's image He made man". God lives forever. Since we were created in His image, we too were created to live forever. You may ask: 'Then, why do people die if it was not in God's original purpose?' The answer is -any defects in humans including death is as a result of human imperfection. (Deuteronomy 32:4) How is that, you may ask? Do you remember the account in Genesis when God told our first perfect human parents, Adam & Eve to be obedient and not eat from nor touch a certain tree in The Garden of Eden? They sinned by disobeying, passing on sin to us. Thus, death spread to ALL men as if we ALL had sinned says Romans 5:12. Will this continue forever? No. For death is an enemy says the bible and all of God's enemies WILL be brought to nothing! (1 Cor 15:26).Rejoice because that truly is good news! Thanks for reading this message. Please share it with other grieving family members & friends. It is our hope that you've found comfort in God's promises today.

My deepest sympathy to the Whitten family. I played on the Columbia Screen and Awning team that Mr Whitten coached in the late 60's. Chris was also on that team along with Scott Newman, Tim Twitty, Skippy Skipper, Mike Burr, John Neighbors and a few others. Mr. Whitten was a great positive influence on a lot of us growing up. I have thought of Mr. Whitten many times over the years when I would occasionally run across the group pictures that were taken back then. Thank you to the Whitten Family for sharing him with us all.

Billy was one of my best coaches I ever had! I was blessed to have played for him in the 1974 World Series. He was one of the reasons I decided to go into coaching and education as my career. May God Bless

Ron - Please extend my sympathies to your mother, your family and to yourself. Carolyn alerted some of us retirees to your father's death; all of us have lost close family members and so we are familiar with your sense of loss. After some time passes, loss is partially replaced with memories which are very comforting. I know you and your siblings are a great support for you mother.
