Obituary of Frankie Strange

CAYCE: Funeral services for Frankie B. Strange, 64, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at West Side Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Clint Lawyer and George Smith. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Anderson, Dalton Shull, Walter Lown, Richard Benjamin, Randy Mason, Wayne Hamilton, and Charles Shealy. Honorary pallbearers will be the West Side Baptist Church Mission Team. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Strange passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Billy B. Strange and Margaret Strange. He was a longtime member of West Side Baptist Church, where he was an ordained Deacon. He was also Director of the Mission team for West Side Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Betty Abbott Strange of Cayce; daughter, Virginia Dunn (Ryan) of Greenville, NC; sons, Mark Abbott (Sheryl) of Lexington, David Abbott (Kim) of Columbia and Harry F. Abbott, Jr., (Chanel) of Simpsonville; twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Billy R. Strange and 1 grandson, Joshua Abbott.
