Obituary of Thomas Wayne Hunter

JOHNSTON—Thomas Wayne Hunter, 70, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Lexington Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1942 to the late Earnest and Ola Belle Hunter. He was employed at Gantt Trucking for 43 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Wayne is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 31 years of marriage, Betty C. Hunter; children, David Hunter (Rhonda) of Pelion, Libby Rikard (Clay) of Leesville, Chris Garner of Leesville; grandchildren and lights of his life, Nikki Starnes, Courtney Rikard, Triston Hunter, Blake Garner, Kaitlyn Hunter, Mikayla Rikard, Bryce Hunter and Lauren Rikard; brothers, Murdic Hunter of Lexington, Danny Hunter of Lexington and sisters, Ruby Hannah of North Charleston, Mary Smith of Lexington, Debbie Curry of Gaston and by his closest friend in the world, Charles R. Gantt of Lexington; along with many nephews and nieces. Wayne will be missed by any and all whose life he touched. Funeral service for Thomas W. Hunter will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with burial in Celestial Memorial Gardens following the service. Rev. Burton Campbell will be officiating. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
