My Mom married my Pops 31 years ago but our memories go beyond that. Thomas Wayne Hunter was the only father we knew. Growing up as a child we found him to be stern, strict and what we thought was just mean. For we did not see the love in that sternness and the molding and shaping of character that we make us three who we are today. God sent him to my mom to be a very influential part of our raising. Although there were many hard roads and life lessons to be learned by all, he took the challenge of raising three children instead of walking away. Not only were we blessed to have had such a compassionate loving man as a father , I have watched the two of them be there for so many people in need by cooking a meal , cutting grass or any need and be satisfied with a simple Thank You. He was a simple humble man that taught us so much more than could ever be written. He may have not had been genetically our father but what more could we ask for our home was full of love, support and compassion for others. His blood may have not ran through our veins but his impressions on our character and hearts will last a life time and just ask any grandchild and they will all tell you he was truly the world's best grandpa. From the birth of the first to the last his heart was full of love and pride for them all. Although our hearts are sadden and heavy with the loss of such a WONDERFUL MAN. We find peace and comfort in knowing he is heaven with his dad and mom and singing in God's choir of angels. Pops this is only a minor separation till we "See You Again."
