Obituary of Gaynelle Branch

WEST COLUMBIA—Gaynelle Branch of 220 Green Street, West Columbia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services for Gaynelle Branch, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church, 401 Church Street, West Columbia, SC 29172. Reverend Gene Henderson, Reverend Bill Branch, her son and Reverend Eric Branch, her grandson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ward Shumpert, Don Shumpert, Zack Henderson, Caleb Henderson, Lewis Spires, Craig Spires and Wayne Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and Ladies Prayer Group. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church, Building Fund, 501 Church Street, West Columbia, SC 29172. Born in Gaston, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Thomas and Rosa Lee Sturkie Glover. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a devoted prayer warrior. Gaynelle retired from Lexington School District 2. She loved her family, grandkids and her church. Surviving are her daughters, Phyllis Huggins (Thurman) of Gaston, SC and Felicia Roccol (Dennis) of Hartford, AL; sons, Eddie Ray Branch (Tracy) of Burleson, TX and Rev. Bill Branch (Marvlene) of Warrenville, SC; eleven grandchildren, Eric Branch (Kimberly), Kimberly Crawford (Gordon), Kerry Branch (Tracey), Sherry Branch, Nicholas Branch, Jeremy Bray, Angela Fulmer (Jeff), Phillip Branch (Regina), Jason Rocco, Aaron Buller (Deborah) and Vickie Severance (Ricky); 18 great grandchild, Kyle Branch, Brittnay Branch, Ashley Branch, Heather Branch, Taylor Branch, Kayla Rose Branch, Justin Branch, Bethany Crawford, Amber Branch, Savannah Fulmer, Lindsey Fulmer, Rebecca Crawford, Landon Fulmer, Blake Crawford, Brayden Buller, Chad Bryant, Matthew Bryant and Jayden Rocco; sister, Kathryn Spires of West Columbia, SC; brothers, W.T. Glover of West Columbia, SC, Clide Glover, Georgetown, SC and Johnny Glover of Greasewood, AZ. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years of the late Edward V. Branch, parents, and a sister, Lessie Mae Helms.
