Obituary of Alice Kaiser Stabler

Sandy Run-A service celebrating the life of Alice Kaiser Stabler, 90, of Sandy Run will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Sandy Run Lutheran Church, 1927 Old State Road, Swansea, (Sandy Run) SC, with interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Robert W. Hawkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Memorials may be made to Sandy Run Lutheran Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund. Mrs. Stabler passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014. Born in Lexington County on November 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Kaiser and Ethel Corley Kaiser and was the beloved wife of the late Hubert L. Stabler to whom she was married for 56 years. She was employed by Belk's Department Store and later retired from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. She loved her flowers, gardening, her church and her cooking won may hearts. She was a gentle, loving and caring lady and deeply devoted to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Those left to cherish her precious memories are her daughters, Louise Amick (David, Sr.), Joyce Meetze (Henry), and Grace Fuson (Edward) and her son, Richard Stabler (Margaret); grandchildren, Debbie Brehmer (Karl), David Amick, Jr. (Tabitha), Angi Stabler-Baker (C.J.), Benjamin Stabler (Amy); step-grandchildren, Nicole Platt (Brian) and Melanie Cherrington (Bobby); great-grandchildren, Thomas and Andrew Brehmer, Zachary and Alexis Amick, Harrison Wofford, Logan Stabler; step-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Bryson Platt and Rhythm Cherrington; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Rudolph, Clyde and Franklin Kaiser. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to caregivers, Deborah Brown and Tri-County Hospice, Nell Staley and to Lexington Extended Care and National Healthcare, especially Pam Riley, for their kindness and tender care of our beloved mother and grandmother.
