Jerry, I'm so sorry for your loss...Both Dot and Pappy were wonderful neighbors and they never expressed hard feelings when Annie and Goldie would sneak out of the paddock and get into their vegetable garden...at least they kept the deer out when they were getting a snack...I'll miss your mom and dad...

Grandma, Nanny Dot. Remember that last great day? We went outside, you laid your head back and reveled in the warm sun. We talked about the beauty of everything from the colorful flowers to the towering Loblolly pines. How beautifully blue the sky was. But your steel blue eyes, the last time we locked eyes, ...the memory and feeling of that will never go away.I will miss you on earth, but will eternally feel your presence.

I first met Ms.Dot and Mr. Pappy when I first joined Chapin Baptist Church many, many years ago. They were always so kind and such a joy to be around. Ms. Dot always had a kind word for you and was so kind in her Southern genteel ways and voice. They added so much to the community and the church family and all those around them. The picture you chose of her on this page is the way I remember her looking when I fist met her. We moved on to another church through the years and no longer got to see her as often. My deepest sympathies for your loss as a family but heaven has gained another saint.

Grandma....I have so many memories and I am not able to put them into words just yet...I just want to say that you looked so beautiful and peaceful today! I was strong for you and I felt you there with me. I am going to miss you so much. Even though my heart hurts, I know that you are happy and are no longer in pain. Your work here is complete. I am blessed to have had you as my grandmother!! I love you....

Aunt Dot was a true southern belle! She was a gracious, kind and loving lady with unconditional love for her entire family. She spoke with honey dripping off that slow, southern drawl and I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone. My wonderful memories of her stretch from early childhood when we lost our daddy and she gathered her family around us to give love and consolation to the celebration of her 95th birthday last November. I will always carry her in my heart. She was a blessing in the lives of people all over the country. Love, prayers and sympathy to Jerry and the family from Ruth Sherrill Harkey and family.

My memories of my Grandmother are endless. She taught me so many things about life. Acceptance, humility and love. She made my heart grow in ways, that as she put it, "Some things, there are no words for". And the gift of her love will remain in my heart for eternity. "Until we meet again, Grandma ".
