Obituary of Stanley Jasso

Stanley A. Jasso, 90, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away November 2, 2014. Mr. Jasso was born on May 7, 1924 in Deming, New Mexico to the late Narciso and Inez (Avalos) Jasso. A proud United States Army Veteran, he dedicated 21 years of faithful and honorable service to his county. During World War II he fought in the Pacific and was twice wounded on the battlefield. After his military career Stanley began a second career as Owner and Operator of several Texaco Stations in the Columbia area. Stanley enjoyed fishing, golf and coin collecting. He was an amazing story teller, and chef. He took great pride in the title of holiday cook. Stanley is survived by: Molly (Frank) Morales, Shirley (Sunny) Moore, Saiema (Harvey, III) Blanchard; three sons, Jimmy (Maria Elena) Jasso, Dean Saidin Jasso, Ismael "Matthew" (Ramona) Jasso; grandchildren Debbie Morales Odell, Sandra Morales Pyle, Julian Morales, David Morales, Patricia Morales, Wanda Moore Jones, Dee Moore West , Kimberley Moore Orum, Claudia Moore Livingston, Jimmy Jasso Jr., Adam Jasso, Marlena Jasso (Devin) Badoni, Lauren Blanchard (Chase) McCallister, Alyssa Blanchard (Thomas) Peterson, Ryan F. Blanchard, Connor Jasso, Chase Jasso and Hayden Jasso; great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; two sisters Susie Short and Otilla Zamora. He was preceded in death by: Adele I. Jasso his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, by his six brothers, Candido, Eugene, Joe, Max, Trinidad and Arthur Jasso and 1 sister Juanita Lopez. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209 on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 12 PM until 1 PM. Funeral services will be at 1 PM on 11/06/2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park with FUNERAL CLERGY officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service.
