So sorry to learn of the passing of Uncle Owens. He was always so much fun to be around. When I was little I loved dill pickles so much one day he bet me I would probably eat one covered in chocolate (another favorite thing I loved) so one afternoon he picked me up and asked if I wanted to go for an ice cream..we went to our favorite ice cream store where low and behold..he had a dill pickle in a bag and asked the lady to dip it in chocolate and she did and I was a happy little girl...dripping pickle juice and chocolate down my dress...Yum !! Whenever I would call his house when either one answered I would ask if they knew where I could get a chocolate covered dill pickle..they immediately knew who it was. I will miss you Uncle Owens...YO

Owens and Shirley were wonderful Youth Directors for Edwards Memorial ARP church where I grew up. They helped shape the lives of many youth that attended that church. Those days stand out as some of the most memorable times of my life. Evelyn Hoogenboom Speares

Owens touched and inspired many people during his life and loved his church family at Edwards Memorial. His love of music was quite evident as demonstrated by his long-time participation in the church choir. Owens loved the Lord and not only "talked the talk" but also "walked the talk" as became evident in the impact on his children who followed the example of Owens and Shirley. I will always remember him performing at our church talent shows in his coveralls, plaid shirt, straw hat playing his harmonica and spoons. He loved Bill and me and played a large part in making us feel we were part of that church family. At Sunday evening services, he often requested "Rock of Ages" and now he will be part of God's heavenly choir and I can't wait to hear him sing. My condolences to the family and pray our Lord's comfort and blessings for them as they mourn the loss of a a good Christian man who touched the lives of many people during his life.
