Cobi (Visscher) Wallace posted a condolence

Dear Judy & Family:
Very sad to hear of your father's passing. It's been more than forty years since I first arrived in the United States and stayed with your family in Washington, D.C. Our lives went in different directions and so much has happened, but your dad always stayed in touch. I will miss those phone calls immensely. I will also remember how much he respected my mother (Mevrouw Visscher, his landlady in Utrecht, the Netherlands) - the feeling was mutual. Wishing you the very best,
Cobi (Visscher) Wallace, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

I first met Dr. Fred at a Jiffy Lube in Sarasota, Florida and we hit it off immediately. Shortly thereafter he asked me to prepare his personal tax returns and I have been doing them ever since. He was a fine individual and my daughter used his book on pathology in her nursing classes. He will be sorely missed.

Fred was my father-in-law for 16 years. It is sweet to read the comments by his secretary Ms. Flannery, about whom I heard so much from my husband, Fred's son Michael, who passed away in January 2013. Fred was an artist, a scholar, a health advocate, and deeply spiritual. His inspiring spirit will always be here through the many lives he touched. May he, James, and Michael envelop God's everlasting peace and comfort Judith in her life now. Shanti - the peace that passes all understanding..
With love, Gayl Hardeman

I had the great pleasure of being Dr. Klutzow's secretary from 1975-1981. He was the Chief of Laboratory Services and we all referred to him as the King. Dr. Klutzow was a brilliant, compassionate man who cared deeply for all of his laboratory family. Whenever anyone had a medical problem, we would always contact the King first for his advice, which was always correct.
Although I moved on to a different position, and Dr. Klutzow was promoted to be the Chief of Staff at another VA Medical Center, he and I always stayed in touch. We would always send cards, postcards, etc. to each other throughout all these years. We regularly telephoned each other to 'catch up' on what was going on in our lives. He continually sent me important health literature to read and share with family and friends.
I have truly lost a great friend. I was selecting St. Patrick's Day Cards yesterday, and it
really saddened me to know that this will be the first time in 40 years, that I will not
be sending a 'Top of the Morning' card to him.
May God hold him in the palm of His hand.
Louise (Flannery) Dombrowski

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my friend, Dr. Klutzow! He often came to visit me at the School of Medicine Library, and he was always eager to share his depth of knowledge regarding a healthy lifestyle, vitamins and minerals, and general health recommendations. He also shared many of his life stories with me, including his ordeal as a prisoner of war. He was an inspiring, amazing person, and I will miss his visits! My thoughts and prayers are with his family. - Laura Kane
