Obituary of Larry Wayne Grady

Larry Wayne Grady Jr. 49, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 7, 1965 to Larry Wayne Grady, Sr. and Claudia Simpson Grady. He was the owner of Pinestraw Place and Palmetto Playgrounds. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1983. He attended, played football and was a graduate assistant coach at Furman University before graduating from Furman University in 1991. He was a football coach at Cass High School in Cartersville, Georgia. Larry was a football coach at Lexington High School. He was an athletic director for White Knoll High School and athletic director and football coach at Chapin High School. Larry was an avid Golfer and a member of Northside Baptist Church in West Columbia. Surviving in addition to his parents are two daughters, Kayla Joy and Callaway Brooke Grady; one brother, Lewis Grady (Jennifer); niece and nephew, Brooke and Spencer Grady; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and two dogs he cherished Boomer and Diesel. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Lexington Baptist Church,308 E. Main Street in Lexington. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a college fund benefiting Kayla and Callaway c/o SAFE FCU, PO Box 2008, Sumter, SC 29151-2008, payable to SAFE FCU memo line : account # 7716037-1.
