Daphne and family, I was sad to hear of George's death, but know that he is enjoying the fruits of his labor now. He was a wonderful childhood pastor to me and I am so glad he was able to preach at my ordination! I enjoyed my visit to South Carolina as I was discerning the call and appreciated his help and Daphne's hospitality through that process. He lived a full life and that is surely a blessing and a was a key part of the most important aspect of many people's lives: their faith. He is a loss to the Church Militant but a terrific addition to the Church Triumphant. I consider myself fortunate that we crossed paths when we did. Many thanks for all the family did to support his vocation as pastor!
Sincerely,
Pastor Evan McClanahan

Jan and I were sorry to hear about Rev. Rushe. We met him several times over the years with Kay and Russell. I read his obituary twice to understand what a full life he had, living all over the world and accomplishing so many things that 98% of us will never do. I regret I did not know him better as I would have enjoyed learning about all of his travels and adventures. I hope the family will keep him memoirs and someone should write a book about him and his wonderful and full life.

Uncle George was a giant among men. I feel a special loss. He married James and I over 50 years ago, baptized my children. He will be missed.
