Della, We are heartbroken, and can’t begin to imagine the depth of your pain. We have lost a BFF. You were Bob’s treasure! A great team!! Now you are surrounded by beautiful family, all blessed forevermore by this Man of Faith, his character, integrity, values, work ethic, loyalty, devotion, trustworthiness, good humor, love and caring. We, also, were recipients of these. ~~So many memories of military and civilian life keep us company now: The Singer and the Storyteller; hunting, fishing; meals together; long-ago fish frys; special trips to the Chateau at Snowshoe, WV, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg; music concerts; visiting your church and hearing your cantata. His love for people overflowed. ~~ There are so many special memories and stories to recall! Each one of your clan should write down their poignant and loving memories made with Bob at different ages & stages in their lives; how he got them out of a jam, spent time with, nurtured and advised them; how his booming voice would change when speaking to Casey; and, the funny stories (like getting 70 rolls of bathroom tissue for his birthday!); and the thrill of getting his long-awaited little red corvette! Compile all these into a booklet, and give everyone a copy of this wonderful journal! ~~ We’ll miss him always & can’t believe our world without Bob, though we know this was in God’s plan. We are mourning, but grieving for ourselves. God bless you, Della, as you go forward. ~~Salute! Amen!!

On behalf of every member of Bob's Lake Murray Seniors Bass Club, we send our most sincere condolences to Della, and her entire family. Bob shall be truly missed by his "bassin' buddies". We shall always remember the early mornings as Bob was always the first to link up with his partner at every bass tourney. In the pre dawn quiet we heard Bob's raspy laugh. That laugh will echo over the water as we salute him, his love of fishing, his devotion to family, and his service to his nation.
