Obituary of Robert Stanley Kramer

https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/281062302Retired Major Robert (Bob) Stanley Kramer, 80, left this Earth to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was a U. S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Bob was awarded a Purple Heart, Silver Star, and Bronze Star among many other service awards during his 22 years of service, where he eventually retired from Fort Jackson in 1984.

Bob was born March 28, 1940 in Newark, Ohio, and he was the oldest son of Robert J. and Margaret Kramer who are previously deceased. He is survived by his younger sister and brother (Judy Patterson and John Kramer) who continue to reside in Ohio.

On May 21, 1960, Bob married the love of his life, Della Lee (Nice) Kramer and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Their love was something we should all strive to achieve. Bob endlessly committed his life to Della and their family. He is survived by his two devoted sons, Arik (Lynn) and Kevin (Rachel) who provided Bob five grandchildren (Tyler, Victoria, Lauren, Dellaney, and Lindsay); and three great grandchildren (Aubrey, Forrest, and Weston). He will be deeply missed by all.

Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing with Lake Murry Seniors Club, hunting and playing golf at Fort Jackson. Cayce, his loving Schnauzer, was his faithful co-pilot every morning when it was time to pick up the daily newspaper. She adored him and will continue to sit in his chair and look for him to come home. Bob was an active member of Temple Baptist Church where he assisted as the resident handyman and sang in the choir along side his loving wife. His memory will forever be cherished by everyone who was blessed to have known him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Temple Baptist Church at 806 Universal Dr., Columbia, South Carolina 29209. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Interment will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery where full military honors will be performed in his honor to his country.
