Mr. McCutcheon's son, Johnny, and I have been great friends for many years. I have also had the honor of watching his beautiful daughter Angel and special, sweet, beautiful granddaughter Shayne grow up through the years. You are all a fine family and I am proud to know you. Please know my sincere prayers and thoughts are with each of you throughout this difficult time. With much love, Diane Sullivan

We are both so very sorry for our loss. Luther was always a joy to be around and I truly enjoyed the times we would run into each other out and about.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Many fond memories from childhood as neighbors.

Scott Macbeth posted a condolence

This is Scott Macbeth, friend of Charlie Menendez (some may know her as Emma Welch). It was Emma who first introduced me to her Sister & Luke on a visit there years ago. Not having known Luke and having met him that 1st day, I'm telling you , we hit it off like two peas in a pod instantly. I could make him laugh at the drop of a hat and he was constantly amazed at what a "Yankee city boy" like me, didn't know. He called me "Beau". First morning, he said "Beau, you want some eggs for Breakfast? I said Sure. He said come on, follow me. I thought we were going to the store, but he headed out back, soon we were at a forest (being from the city, any place that had more than 3 trees at a time looks like a forest), then he goes into the woods (of course we were only "out back"), and I'm thinking to myself, where is this guy going, what are we doing here, I thought we were going for eggs), and then he reaches in this cage moves the rooster & comes up with 5 eggs! and that was the 1st time in my life I had ever seen that. Luke taught me so much, I have a million more stories of that wonderful man. We truly had a ball together. Many, many good times Never ever met a man like Luke. Love ya, Beau, Gone too soon, forgotten never. Love you Francis!

Christa and I will be continuing to pray for a comfort and peace that can only come from our Heavenly Father for this precious family in the days to come. What a legacy Luther left behind for his children, grands, great grands, and generations to come! He and Frances led by example of how to love your spouse and family well and that you have to work HARD for what you want in life! I remember when I was first introduced to Luther, he said, “Well she’s got to be a good woman bc she drives a Ford!” Haha!!! I remember at holiday gatherings with the family, Frances would have a pan full of fatback and Luther would stuff his pockets full of it and head to the shop so he wouldn’t get fussed at for eating so much fatback! Luther had the most contagious laugh and His love for his family and friends always showed in everything he did! Luther will be missed by many and I’m honored to have had the priveledge of calling him my friend!

Francis , I am so sorry for your loss. Luke was such a great person and I know you will be lost without him. I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. Just keep reminding yourselves about what a great death he had. This is exactly the way we all want to go. June is still hanging on and suffering which I hate to see. I try to visit her every other week and she is going down all the time. I always leave her crying. Luke was blessed and be happy for him. My husband was blessed with no suffering also but that doesn’t take away our pain.
