Cathy my condolences on Sid's passing. For many years I enjoyed working with Sid.
I considered him a friend as well as a client.
He fought a brave fight against this terrible disease. He was a wonderful person with a
great zest for life. I also observed what a loyal, loving and supportive wife you were for Sid. I regret not getting by to see Sid
after I retired. We were out of town and unable to attend services.

To my beloved first cousins, Berry Whetstone Crim and Jordan Bennett Crim Boggs, I remember many wonderful memories both in Columbia (especially at Spring Valley CC) and West Virginia (sledding and hot chocolate) as well as on the SC coast at family beach houses and your mother’s (and mine) family home in Galivant’s Ferry. I know y’all adored him and experienced sorrow seeing him suffer over these past years. Remember all of the happy times and know he loved you very much and is free now. To Berry and Jordan’s wonderful children Anderson Ashley “Ann” Crim; Mattie James Crim; Bethany Grace Crim; and, Katherine Marie Boggs: your grandfather, Reuben Sidney “Sid” Crim loved you so much. You were the light of his life and he will always be with you in spirit. He was important to a lot of people even before you were born and is memorialized in history through this and many other articles you can find: https://www.thestate.com/news/state/south-carolina/article223835015.html. Remember him with pride and know that he adored you all, as do I.

My thoughts today and sympathy to the Crim family I didn't know and thankfulness for the Sid Crim I did know as a SUPERIOR to me in the '70s at the Beckley papers. Those were the days of Keith Walters, managing editor, and he and Sid were a pair of "deciders" to behold. Hard driving, hard smoking, hard headed news hounds and I loved my seven years reporting for the Beckley Post Herald. Family, may your own fond remembrances flood your hearts now.

Mr. Crim was a truly self-made man and admirable. Sid was my brother's friend and the two of them decided to run away from home. I reckon that is proof of the trait of independence which is mostly good. At 71 I am wistful about not tracking down folks. I trust that Sid's passing over the horizon left good will with his family and friends.
