I am so sorry to learn of the passing of our cousin Myra Epting. I never had the privilege and pleasure of meeting her but I knew her Dad and Mom. They attended many reunions of the Gillion/Riser family at my parents' home in Chappells. (Curtis and Sula Mae GIllion Riser) My heartfelt love and sympathy go out to each of you. May God give you comfort, strength, understanding, and joy, knowing she is with Him.

I was so sorry to hear of Myra's passing. She was such a talented and special angel. I remember her leading everybody on the away-game buses in song. I especially liked Sipping Cider Through a Straw. Do you supposed she's leading the citizens of heaven in that song? May God comfort you in your loss.

Dear Jimmy and family - I just heard that Myra had passed away. So sorry to hear this. What a shock! Myra and I had just recently reconnected on Facebook and were catching up on all of our years apart since Furman. We were students together at Furman, even on the same hall. Myra and I also worked some summers at Camp Rawls w/ the G.A.s. Such wonderful memories from both places. And Myra sang in my wedding in August 1968, after we graduated from Furman. She has always and will always have a special place in my memory. Until we meet again, Myra!

Dear Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. May God’s promise bring you comfort. There will be “a new earth... and He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore... I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:1-5

Today the heavenly choir acquired an extraordinary voice.
When we were at Southern Seminary, Myra, Jill Page (Singleton), and I formed a trio and named ourselves “These Three.” We even composed a song to introduce ourselves. It was in the days when Grady Nutt, a Southern Baptist Minister, was an administrator at Southern. He was so popular as a humorist that he was in constant demand. When he heard us sing at a Seminary event, he invited us to go along with him and sing at his events. Grady ultimately left Southern and ended up on the popular TV show HEE HAW.
Here is the way our trio worked. Jill sang the lead, I harmonized, and Myra had made up her own part. She had such a wonderful range and such command of music that she always made us sound good. We had lots of fun and also earned some money to help with our education.
I will always treasure her relationship in my life. And today if you pause, you may hear her sing, “How Great Thou Art.”

Myra was a wonderful, dear woman. She loved the Lord and her family. She meant so much to all of us who were fortunate enough to have her as a teacher. Myra will always be "Something Special" to me. The choir is rejoicing in heaven with your voice added to it.

Renee, Jimmy and family: Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family on Monday as you celebrate Myra's life. It's Myra - it must be a celebration - and we all know she is leading a celebration in heaven with family, friends and many new friends she may have made since leaving us. Thoughts and memories of Myra bring a smile - a bold laugh. We have many fond memories of our times with Myra and Renee -- a trip to visit them was (and will continue to be) an adventure. Myra has left us the greatest gift of all - LOVE! Her love is with us forever and a "little" bit of Myra lives on in all of us. Rejoice and enjoy your new life, Myra Louise! Bobby and I will still be calling, and we understand your message still says, "I'm busy!" We understand, Miss Epting!
Love and prayers from the Louisiana cousins - Marie and Bobby

I was very sorry to read of Myra's passing in The State paper today, 10/14/18! She was a wonderful and talented woman! I saw The Righteous Brothers a couple of times here in Columbia, S.C. many, many years ago! Myra would always be invited on stage to sing with them! RIP, Myra!

Dear Renee, Jimmy, Gretchen, and younger generations,
We have suffered a grevious loss. I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it from Chicago to be with you for the service. In our sorrow we can at least take comfort that Myra is now breathing the fresh air of heaven, rejoicing with your parents, meeting Marcelyn, and that we will see her again.
