Obituary of Matthew Ross

WEST COLUMBIA - Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Matthew Patrick Ross, 47, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at All Saints""' Episcopal Church, officiated by Dr. Georg Retzlaff. Memorials may be made to All Saints""' Episcopal Church, 1001 12th St., Cayce, SC 29033. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family.Mr. Ross died Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Doris J. Ross and the late Arthur Ray Ross, Sr. He was a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and attended Midlands Technical College. Mr. Ross was a Civil War History enthusiast; an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking and camping. He loved animals. Mr. Ross was a member of All Saints""' Episcopal Church.Surviving is his mother, Doris J. Ross of West Columbia; sister, Eva Ross Benson of Columbia; brother, Buck Ross of West Columbia; nephews, Gene McBride Ross and Kevin Michael Ross.
