Obituary of Mary Thomson

Mary Jo Thomson WEST COLUMBIA: Memorial service for Mary Jo Thomson, 70, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Baptist Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29201. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Thomson, widow of Julius Bristow Thomson, died Thursday, September 1, 2011. Born in Williamsburg Co., SC, she was a daughter of Mary Marshall Ivey and the late Joe Fred Ivey. She was retired from Mary Jo's Styling Salon, Kingstree, SC and Ivey's Styling Salon, Summerville, SC, that she owned and operated. Surviving is her mother, Mary Marshal Ivey of Florence; daughter, Pamela Blackwell (Merle) of Lexington; brother, Sheppard Ivey of Florence; three grandchildren, Caleb, Matthew and Eliza Blackwell.
