Obituary of Arthur Williams

Arthur Franklin Williams, U.S. Army, (Ret.) WEST COLUMBIA: Services for Arthur Franklin Williams, 86, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Pastor Ryan Vaughan. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. prior to service. Memorials may be made to Babcock Center, 500 Rivermont Drive, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Williams died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Conway, SC, he was a son of the late Dennis Roscoe Williams and Irene Richardson Williams. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Arthur was employed with Lynn's Heating and Air for 30 years or longer. Surviving are: his loving wife, Sophie Bartl Williams of West Columbia; daughter, Mary Williams of West Columbia; half sisters, Mae Ray of Hemingway and Cassie West of Conway; half brother, Michael Williams; niece, Phyllis Brown of Conway.
