Obituary of Michael Hinson

Michael Joseph Hinson WEST COLUMBIA: Graveside service for Michael Joseph Hinson, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Lybrand Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Memorials may be made to Sandy Run Lutheran Church, 1927 Old State Rd., Swansea, SC 29160. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia will be assisting the family. Mr. Hinson died, Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Born in West Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Walter Samuel Hinson and Catherine M. Mitchell Hinson. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, Sgt. 1st class, of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Hinson was a member of the VFW post #641. Survivors include his loving wife, Hannelore W. Hinson of Swansea; daughter, Scadi H. Webb of Swansea; sons, Michael L. Hinson of Sandy Run and Donald Blaine Hinson of Gilbert; also five grandchildren. Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Miller, Helen Crosby, Myrtle Gleaton, Sarah Givens, Gladys L. Sarnowski; and brother, Roland L. Hinson.
