Obituary of Norvis Gunter Waters

Norvis Gunter Waters WEST COLUMBIA: Service for Norvis Grace Gunter Waters, 82, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in the West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, 350 Wattling Rd., West Columbia, SC 29170. Service will be officiated by Rev. Bill Harmon. Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mrs. Waters went to be with her Lord, Monday, December 5, 2011. Born in Batesburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Ray Gunter and Hattie Pearl Busbee Gunter. She was a member of West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving is her husband of sixty-six years, Ernest Waters; daughters, Norvis Christine Hoffman Bradshaw and Tammy Michelle Magni; sisters, Delores Johnson and Shirley Jean Abbott all of West Columbia; five grandchildren, Jeri Lynn Hoffman Hunt, Shawn DeWayne Hoffman, Donnie Paul Laymon, Kimberly Michelle Waters and Sheri Michelle Magni; three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by sons, Paul Waters and Reginald Keith Waters; also brothers, Purman and Donald Gunter. Family and friends may sign online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
