Sheila Dianne Williams LEXINGTON: Services for Sheila Dianne Williams, 61, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Robert Reeves and Rev. Wayne Lovett. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, 2373 Calks Ferry Rd., Lexington, SC 29072, or to Amedisys Hospice, 305 Stoneridge Dr., Suite B, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Williams went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 1, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Harvis L. Sox and Elsie M. Lovett Sox. She was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. She won the award from Mid-Carolina WIRE, Angel of the Year, for visiting children in hospitals. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Jamaica, Spain, Morocco, the Bahamas, and across the USA. She loved family camping trips to the mountains and the beach. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, and making crafts of all kinds. She adored her grandchildren, even nieces and nephews called her "Grandma Dianne." The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and family members for their support through her extended illness, especially Dr. Tripp Jones and his oncology staff. Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Carl Williams of Lexington; daughter, Joye Taylor (Larry) of Gilbert; son, Benjamin O. Williams (Linda) of Lexington; sister, Rose Ricard (Dennis) of Lexington; brother, Charles R. Sox, Sr. (Peggy) of West Columbia; grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb, Brook, Luke and Emily. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by brothers, Stevie Sox and Johnny Sox.
