Obituary of Lottie Mills

Lottie Brazell Mills COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Lottie Brazell Mills, 73, of Columbia, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mrs. Mills, widow of Hazel R. Mills, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Brazell and Beaulah Mae Rucker Brazell. She was a lifelong area resident and a devoted Christian. She worked in the Food service industry for many years. She was an avid dog lover and extremely loving and devoted to her family. Surviving are her sisters, Mary Dillard of SC, Joanne Boydston of CA and Helen Johnson of SC; brothers, Gerald Brazell, Henry Brazell and Donny Brazell all of TX, Frank Brazell of SC; beloved nephew & nieces she raised, Robbie Lawhorn, Sherri Davis, Susan Rogers and Theresa Cunningham; step-son, James Mills; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura St. Martin and a brother, Larry Brazell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Hope Food Bank, 2220 Shop Road, Columbia, SC 29201.
