Obituary of Homer Jeffcoat

CAYCE—Funeral services for Rev. Patrick Homer Jeffcoat, 86, of Cayce, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Rev. Harry Jeffcoat. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in his honor to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648. Rev. Jeffcoat, beloved husband of the late Florence H. Jeffcoat, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Born in West Columbia, he was the son of the late Martin Luther Jeffcoat and Mary Viola Smith. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was the former Pastor of Broadacres Baptist Church and Line Street Baptist Church. He was a Chaplain of TPA and past President of the Rose Society. After retiring from full-time Ministry, he taught for over 20 years at Wagner-Salley High School. Surviving are his children, Kathy J. Nettles (Tom) of Lexington; Ronald D. Jeffcoat (Johnette) of Columbia and Pat Jeffcoat (Pam) of Chapin, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Jeffcoat of Montgomery, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Garrison Jeffcoat and eleven brothers and sisters. A special thanks to Dr. Bradley Word and staff, Marshall Armstrong and family friend, Lisa Schaffer.
