Obituary of Iva C Smith

Iva C. Smith, 90, of West Columbia, wife of the late J. Loyd Smith, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016. She was born on December 1, 1925, in Lexington County, to the late Otis and Annie Mae Oswald Crapps. She was a member of Christian Life Church, and was a devoted Christian and prayer warrior. Iva loved working in her yard and most of all taking care of her family. She is survived by a son, Ansel La Grande Smith; daughter, Trudy Yount; one brother, Eugene Crapps, four grandchildren; Darlene Nichols, Joseph Marsh, Jamie Phillips and Stacy Phillips, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip Smith, one brother, Victor Crapps, two sisters, Sadie Dixon and Louise Nabors. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 12 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Christian Life Church in Columbia. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.
