Obituary of Pearl Folsom

COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Pearl Beanice Folsom, 92, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Graves. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29201 or Southside Baptist Church, 702 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC 29201.Mrs. Folsom passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010. Born in Cassatt, she was the daughter of the late Landy Edward Bowers, Sr. and Bessie Irene Peach Bowers. She was a resident here since 1942, formerly of Camden and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Folsom retired after 37 years of loyal service from Pacific Mills. She was a member of Pacific Park Wellness Center where she was actively involved in packing lunches for Meals on Wheels. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Pearl was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her sisters and brothers.Surviving are her daughter, Ann Lake of West Columbia; grandchildren, Cindy Lee (David) and Michael Lake (Devon); great-grandchildren, Brienna, Deanna, Dyanne, D.J. and Morgan; sisters, Ruby Folsom of West Columbia, Viola Stokes of Camden, Betty Kelly of Cassatt and Mary McGee of Columbia; brothers, Landy 'Red' Bowers, Jr. of Cassatt, Paul Bowers of Camden and Robert Bowers of West Columbia.
