Obituary of Allene Kirby

GREENVILLE - Services for Allene Kirby, 87, of Greenville, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will Rev. Wayne Smith. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P. O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.Mrs. Kirby died Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Born in Conway, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Zeddie Cooper Thompkins. She was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church where she was involved in the Sunday School program. During her career she was a Licensed Practical Nurse and an orthodontic lab technician.Surviving are her daughter, Charlene Northcutt Dean and her husband, Alan of Greenville; son, Charles Northcutt and his wife, Diane of Camden; four grandchildren, Daniel, Alex, and Rachael Northcutt and Sara Dean; and her brother, Paul Thompkins and his wife, Rudell of Conway.She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Charles E.
