Obituary of Pamela Mellin

A funeral service for Pamela Kirk Mellin, 63, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with entombment to follow. The family will receive friends following the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. Ms. Mellin died on Friday, April 20, 2012, in Pembroke Pines, FL where she resided for many years. She was born in Camp LeJeune, NC on August 1, 1948, and formerly of Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Walter Charles and Grace Sheppard Kirk of Columbia, SC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George H. Mellin, Jr. Pam attended Cardinal Newman High School, St. Mary College, and Richland Tech. She worked in insurance for a while, after moving to Florida. Pam attended St. Bernadette?s Catholic Church. Her hobbies included cooking, shopping, watching basketball and football, and at one time, raising and showing Persian cats. Surviving are her fiancé, Michael McQuade of Pembroke Pines, FL; her brother, Dr. Walter C. Kirk, Jr. and his wife, Claudia of Goldsboro, NC; her nieces, Kelly Kirk McCrossin and Courtney Kirk Williams; great-nieces, Elena McCrossin and Hadley Williams; a great-nephew, Henry McCrossin; and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. George H.
