Obituary of Dorothy Parrish

A funeral service celebrating the life of Dorothy Rose Parrish, 83, of Columbia will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at East Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Robert G. Ward, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until the hour of the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the East Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1213 Hazelwood Road, Columbia, SC 29209 in Dorothy?s memory. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Dorothy passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010. She was born in Wilson County, SC to the late Marvin L. Rose and Bessie Barnes Rose. Dorothy was a very giving person and she loved to cook for others. She also enjoyed gardening, playing Scrabble, and she devoted a lot of time doing volunteer work. Mrs. Parrish was a member of East Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Milford W. Parrish; a brother, Donald Rose and a sister, Doris Dushane. Surviving are her daughter, Anita (Wayne) McClard; two sons, Greg Parrish and John Chalers; two sisters, Mildred Peedin and Betty Hinnant; a brother, Ralph Rose; a host of grandchildren & other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
