Obituary of MARY SHIVERS

Mary L. Shivers, 82, of Columbia, SC, went to be with Her Savior on January 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Shivers and son, Jimmy Shivers. Mary is survived by her son, Rev. Frank Shivers (Mary) of Columbia; and her daughter, Linda Bleckley (Paul) of Spartanburg, SC. She has four grandchildren, Mark Shivers, Stephanie McLawhorn (Richie), Andrew Bleckley and David Bleckley. Mary was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where she was leader of the Temple Rays, Bereavement Committee, and Helping Hands Ministries. She was active in her Capital View Homeowners Association, Eastern Star, and with the Sheriff?s department. One of the greatest joys and fulfillments of her life was involvement in the ministry of Camp Longridge to students. Funeral services for Mary L. Shivers will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 ? 7pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Camp Longridge, PO Box 220, Ridgeway, SC 29130 for the Quad-Cabin Development Project.
