Obituary of GOTTFRIEDE EPURE SMITH

A memorial service celebrating the life of Gottfriede ?Frieda? Katharina Epure Smith, 84, of Columbia will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements Frieda departed her earthly life on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. She was born on August 13, 1926 in Vienna, Austria to Jakob Epure and Gottfriede Cerny. Frieda lived in Boulder, Colorado for 20 years where she loved the mountains, she and her husband, Earl moved to Columbia, SC where they resided for the last 40 years until his death in November 2008. Frieda retired from Bob Capes Realty. Frieda was predeceased by her husband, Earl Ingward Smith; her sisters, Anna Krautschneider and Hilda Melton. Surviving are her loving children, Patricia Smith, Thomas (Clydene) Smith, and Cynthia Shealy; 6 grandchildren, Timothy (Christina) Bristol, Thomas (Jenna) Bristol, Ray (Maria) Shealy, Jr., Daniel (Yvonne) Shealy, Clay Shealy, and Holly Shealy; 8 great-grandchildren; her dearest friend, Edie Allan Hageman; numerous nieces and nephews in Austria, Nebraska and throughout the United States.
