"Cindy" Candler - Lexington Following a brief battle with cancer, Cynthia H. "Cindy" Candler, 63, died at home Sunday, March 27, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of Glendora L. Horton and the late D. Poovey Horton. She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church, where she served as church organist and administrative assistant in the music ministry. One of Cindy's great loves was her four, precious grandchildren. Survivors include her mother, Glendora L. Horton of Lexington; husband, Steedley Candler of Lexington; son, Kyle Candler and his wife Jana of Greenville; daughter, Kelli Ingram and her husband Mitch of Garner, NC; sister, Martha Spotts and her husband Tommy of West Columbia; brothers Larry Horton and his wife Dida of Mansfield, TX and Phil Horton of West Columbia; four grandchildren, Maddie and Bennett Candler of Greenville and Marley and Candler Ingram of Garner, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Cindy's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Lexington Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mike Turner and Rev. Rick Fisher. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Bagwell, Brian Horton, Jeffrey Horton, Ron Horton, Phil Mobley, Jeff Mobley, and Tommy Spotts, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. this Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
