Obituary of Kenneth Davis

Kenneth Taylor Davis COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Kenneth Taylor Davis, 74, of Columbia, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Burial will follow in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20 from 7-9 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mr. Davis, widower of Bonnie Benton Davis, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Braxton Bragg Davis and Bessie Mildred Taylor. He was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Davis will be remembered for being loving and comical. He enjoyed gardening and loved children. Surviving are his daughters, Kim Blackmon (Don) of Swansea, Sharon Terry (Bill Loy) of Gaston, and Melissa McAlister (Patrick) of Gaston. He is also survived by a brother, Mickey Sharpe of West Columbia; nine grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karon Davis.
