Obituary of Paul Busby

A funeral service celebrating the life of Paul Monroe Busby, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mr. Busby departed this earthly life on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Dorn VA Medical Center. He was born on June 1, 1926 in Pelion, SC to the late Tom Busby and Lillie Busby. Paul was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, the Lower Richland Masonic Lodge #406 and Jamil Temple. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Busby was predeceased by his 1st wife, Vivian Prosser Busby and a great-grandchild, Patrick Greer, Jr. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Nellie Busby; daughters, Pamela (Tim) Green and Kimberly Wood; sons, Earl (Joyce) Busby, Duggan Busby, and Herbert (Christie) Frasier; grandsons, Patrick and Dustin Greer were raised in the home; also surviving are 19 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.
