William Edward "Billy" Taylor, Sr. CAYCE: Graveside service for William Edward "Billy" Taylor, Sr., 80, will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Southland Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Wilson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Capital Campaign @ Oakwood Baptist Church, 3520 Mineral Springs Rd., Lexington, SC 29073. Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Born in Kershaw, SC, he was a son of the late Levy M. Taylor and Lula Richardson Taylor, the baby of eight children. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Taylor was retired from Nix Volkswagen, Audi and Subaru. Bill was a great salesman, loved to play golf and talked often of his golfing buddies. He loved his Sunday School class and friends at Oakwood Baptist Church. Bill was known for his beautiful yard and for having loyal neighbors. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Sarah, Will and his wife Avery; loved his daughter, Judy, for her constant care given to him since the loss of his wife, Ann. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given to him by Dr. J. Frank Martin and his staff at Palmetto Family Medicine. Survivors are his daughter, Judy Kreps (Campbell) of Blythewood; son, William Taylor, Jr. (Nancy) of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, William Taylor, III (Avery) and Sarah Jane Taylor; also many wonderful nieces and nephews.
