Obituary of Carol Liles

Mr. Carol Stokes Liles of Columbia, South Carolina, was born in Greenville and reared in Opelika, Alabama, died on Friday, July 8th, 2011. He was the son of Dr. Joseph Howard Liles and Doris Stokes Hunter Liles. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Billie Lou Cain Liles and his three children Carol Stokes "Tokey" Liles II of New York, NY, Joseph Howard "Brownie" (Susan McCreight) Liles of Watauga, TN and Molly Liles (Trent) Hutchinson of Hopkins, SC. He was the loving grandfather of Wickliffe Stokes Liles, William Banks Liles, Joseph Walker Liles, Grace Liles Hutchinson, Hillary Cain Hutchinson and Georgia Roland Hutchinson. He was the older brother of Paige Hopson, Joe Liles and Wicky (Tommy) Poarch. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a member of Kappa Alpha Order and a long-time member of Shandon Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends and his gift of storytelling. A visitation for Mr. Carol Stokes Liles will be held at 2 o'clock on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Shandon Baptist Church with the memorial service immediately following at 3 o'clock in the church sanctuary.
