Obituary of David James Clark

David James "Davie" Clark WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for David James "Davie" Clark, 33, of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Westside Holiness Church. Officiating will be Rev. J.E. Jeffcoat and Rev. Ron Taylor. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. Clark passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011. Born in West Columbia, he was the son of David Kenneth Clark and Gwendolyn Holland Clark. He served in the Army National Guard for nine years with one year in Iraq, where he earned numerous honors and medals. He was a member of Elmwood Church of God and the Gaston Masonic Lodge #382. He was a beloved son, father, brother and friend. He was loving, caring and brought great joy to all who knew him. He was an avid softball player and coach, and a musician. Surviving Mr. Clark in addition to his mother and father, are his daughter, Madison Brooke Clark; stepson, Robert Drake Schwarz; sister, Tiffany Lynn Daughtry; brothers, Kenneth Jody Clark and Daniel Ray Clark; grandparents, Pat Mamie Lou Clark, Margaret C. & Carl W.
