Obituary of Fannie Shealy

Fannie Sara Shealy COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Fannie Sara Shealy, 85, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Rev. Teddy Shumpert. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial may be made in Fanie's honor to the American Cancer, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Shealy, widow of her late husband of 64 years, Wilford Morris Shealy, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Born in South Congaree, she was the daughter of the late John Quincy Shumpert and Mary Elisabeth Boone Shumpert. She was a lifetime area resident and enjoyed gardening. She retired from Horseman Dolls after many years of devoted service. She was a loving and caring mother and will be missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her daughters, Hattie E. Hatchell and Alice K. Payne both of Columbia and Tammy E. Tollerson (David) of LeGrange, GA; sons, Ricky Shealy and Allen Shealy both of Columbia, Gerald Shealy of Aiken and Wilford Shealy, Jr. of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
