Obituary of Betty Lovell

Lexington—A graveside service for Betty Jackson Lovell, 81, of Lexington, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Gibson Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Tracy McGee. Pallbearers will be William Lovell, Kenneth Lovell, David Lovell, Dustin Smith, Dustin Grandy and Ray Hinson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mrs. Lovell, widow of Eugene "Painter Man" William Lovell, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Born in Rock Hill, SC she was the daughter of the late Burton Jackson and Nancy Lemon Jackson. She loved spending time outdoors and was an avid gardener. She was a loving and caring sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her sons, Kenneth W. (Dianne) Lovell and Bruce A. (Geraldine H.) Lovell all of Lexington; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Melton; grandchildren, William B. Lovell, Kenneth W. Lovell II, Nina Lovell-King and David Lovell; two beautiful great-grandchildren and two more great-grandchildren on the way to love. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Juanita Misskelly, Hazel J. Matthews, Janelle Sipe, Gene Jackson and Ray Jackson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital - Richland CCU Unit for their care and dedication to our mother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in honor of Mrs. Lovell to Palmetto Health Heart Hospital - Richland CCU Unit, 6 Medical Park, Columbia, SC 29203.
