Obituary of Dorsey Senterfeit

Dorsey Gene Senterfeit WEST COLUMBIA:Services for Dorsey Gene Senterfeit, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Grace Chapel Church, Dixiana. Service will be officiated by Rev. Rusty Rabon and graveside service with Masonic Rites will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. Visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or to the charity of one's choice. Dorsey, best friend and loving husband of Shirley Lucas Senterfeit for 50 years, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 3, 2011. Born in Stedman, SC, he was a son of the late Furman Brox Senterfeit and Binnie Mae Duffie Senterfeit. He was a loving Daddy to Cindy Campbell (Ronnie), Christie Areheart (Todd) and Kay Austin (Joey) all of West Columbia; and a wonderful and loving Papa to Garrett Campbell, Evan Lusk, Savannah Austin, Bailey Campbell, Moriah Austin and Matthew Areheart. Also surviving are his brothers, Bobby Senterfeit of Gaston, Billy Senterfeit of Pulaski, TN; and Kenny Senterfeit of West Columbia. Dorsey was a Christian and member of Grace Chapel Church. Dorsey was a member of Springdale Masonic Lodge #412, Scottish Rite, Jamil Temple, and Lexington Eastern Star. In addition to his love of family, he loved USC baseball, and was an avid deer hunter. Dorsey was predeceased by brothers, Crum and J.B. Gantt and a sister, Vivian Gantt Shealey.
