Obituary of Mildred Bouknight Lown

Mildred Manell Bouknight Lown WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mildred Manell Bouknight Lown, 92, of West Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Aebischer, Rev. Ryan Lyles and Chaplain Yu Fong Chong. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Scatter Cheer Sunday School Class and Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to the Ladies' Aid "Stained Glass Fund" c/o Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Lown, widow of beloved late husband John Gary Lown, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011. Born in West Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Malissia Buff Bouknight. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Scatter Cheer Sunday School Class and Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. Surviving are her daughter, Freda Fetner (Fred) of Rock Hill; son, Mike Lown (Linda) of Lexington; five grandchildren, Pam, Larry, Lisa, Kristie and Jerrell; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hayden; brothers, Virgil and Wilbur Bouknight. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Crout and Maris Bouknight and six brothers, Knowlton, Robert, Bert, Harry, Walter and Bill Bouknight. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of Agape of West Columbia, especially Agape Hospice for the care and devotion to Mrs. Lown.
