Obituary of Jimmy Hayden

Jimmy Ellison Hayden, Sr. WEST COLUMBIA: Services for Jimmy E. Hayden, Sr., 71, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. James Kight and Rev. Ed Lynch. The family will receive friends prior to service from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648. Mr. Hayden passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Born August 2, 1940, in Richland County, SC, he was the son of the late George and Louise Hayden. He served in the SC National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Hayden was a retired electrician from the University of South Carolina. He loved Gamecock baseball, deer hunting, fishing, and his dogs. He was a member of the Sandhill Hunt Club and a Mason. Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Rose P. Hayden; sons, William Morgan (Carol) and Jimmy Hayden (Bridgette); daughter, Robin Miller (Frankie); three grandchildren; Michael Nicewonger (Christine), Heather Morgan, and Bryce Hayden; and one great grandchild, Tara Nicewonger.
