Obituary of William Benenhaley

William "Bill" J. Benenhaley WEST COLUMBIA: Service for William "Bill" J. Benenhaley, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Chaplain Robert Cely. Interment will be at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, with Full Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Benenhaley died Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Born in Sumter, SC, he was a son of the late Jesse Benenhaley and Emma Oxendine Benenhaley. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran retiring after 20 years service as a Staff Sgt. and was a Shriner. Mr. Benenhaley was a retired Jailer for the City of Columbia. Surviving is his loving wife, Patty S. Benenhaley of West Columbia; daughter, Sharon Ratliff (Johnny) of Lexington; son, Steve Benenhaley (Trina) of Lexington; brother, Stanley Benenhaley of Sumter; three grandchildren, Nikki and Abby Benenhaley and Tanner Clark; also several nieces and nephews.
