Obituary of Kenneth Mills

Kenneth Ross Mills, 77, of Columbia, passed away peacefully November 27, 2012, at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center. Born June 3, 1935, in Muscogee Co., GA, he was a son of the late G. T. and Queenie Irene (Hunt) Mills. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Mills was proud of his service and after more than 20 years he retired. In his younger years Kenneth had resided in Germany, only to return to Columbia in the early 80's. Mr. Mills resided with a very close friend Alan Curtis Broughton for 7 years and then at the VA Medical Center for the past 11 years. He had formed many friendships with the staff and patients and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Mills. He is survived by one nephew, Bruce Mills and his wife Beth, of Anderson; two nieces, Denise Mills, of Piedmont, and Angela Janulis, of Spartanburg; as well as, very special and close friends, Alan Curtis Broughton and The Perez Family. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., on Friday, December 7, 2012, in Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with The Most Reverend Anthony P. Giunta, officiating.
