Obituary of Hallie Sauls Hancock

Hallie Koon Sauls Hancock COLUMBIA: Graveside services for Hallie Koon Hancock, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mrs. Hancock, widow of the late Marion Jackson Hancock and Herman Cecil Sauls, died Thursday, December 22, 2011. Born April 23, 1920, in Irmo, SC, she was the daughter of the late J.I. Koon and Lula Eleazer Koon. Mrs. Hancock graduated from Irmo High School and attended beauty school in Columbia, SC. She was co-owner and operator of Palmetto Beauty Shop in Columbia for many years. Mrs. Hancock was a resident of Eau Claire and recently lived for the past year at Life Care Center in Columbia. One of her passions was her yard until her recent illness. Survivors include her daughter, Beth Sauls Sharpe (Herman) of Lexington; sons, Jack Hancock (Cathy) and Bruce Hancock of Columbia; grandsons, Stan Sharpe of Lexington and Justin Hancock of Charleston; great grandchildren, Zoe and Hazel Hancock of Charleston and several nephews and nieces.
