Obituary of Grace Anderson

Grace Childers Anderson WEST COLUMBIA: Grace Childers Anderson, 92, of 390 Riverchase Way, Lexington, SC, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011. Born in Camden, SC, she was a daughter of the late Todd and Clara Childers. She was the wife of the late Everett D. Anderson, Sr. Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, Friday, December 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Paul Aebischer and Rev. Ryan Lyles. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the church sanctuary. Mrs. Anderson was a SC State Hospital employee as a Psychiatric Aid and Central Supply Person for 26 years, until her retirement in 1983. Surviving are her daughters: Barbara Jean Raulerson, of Columbia, Shirley Ann Miles (Jimmy) of Sandy Run; sons, Everett Dees Anderson, Jr. (Jo Ellen) of Lexington, James Michael Anderson (Kelley) of Columbia; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Childers, and Clemmie Bass; and son-in-law, Hendrix F. (Whitey) Raulerson. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia where she served on the Fellowship and Recreation Committee for several years. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Augsburg Sunday School Class; and the Women of the ELCA, Bernhardt Circle. She was a former member of "We Are Olympia", "Olympia Alumni Association" and a "Friend of Olympia School". She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Purple Giraffe Group. Mrs. Anderson was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flower gardens. She was well known for her delicious pound cakes. The family would like to thank the staff of Agape Senior and Agape Hospice for their loving care, support and compassion.
