Marion "Butch" Strom Jordan COLUMBIA: A celebration of life for Marion "Butch" Strom Jordan, Jr., 63, will be held from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the East Room, Broad River Rd., Columbia, SC. Memorials may be made to Humane Society-HSPCA, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Jordan died Thursday, January 5, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Marion Strom Jordan, Sr., and Mary Land Jordan. He was a member of the first graduating class of Hammond Academy. He attended USC where he was a history major and a member of Thi Kappa Sigma . Mr. Jordan belonged to the Gamecocks Alumni; he followed the Gamecocks and St. Louise Cardinals. He was an avid sports fan. Mr. Jordan was a salesman at Columbia Cigar and Candy. He also was the owner of the East Room for 17 years. Marion enjoyed traveling throughout the world and the United States. Marion's biting wit will be greatly missed. Surviving is his wife of 17 years, Beth Summers of Columbia; and one fat cat "Ace".
