Obituary of Frieda Welch

Frieda P. Welch CAYCE—Funeral services for Frieda P. Welch, 93, of Cayce, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Geddings. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the SPCA, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Mrs. Welch, widow of Grady F. Welch, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late D. Alfred Palmer and Ollie Spigner Palmer. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of Broadacres Baptist Church and the Edna Dorn Sunday School Class. Surviving are her daughter, Susan Gail White (Dennis) of Lake Wells, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Christina Welch-Stevens, Annette Marie Welch-Waters, Sean Franklin Welch, Stephanie Davis and Kally White; sixteen great-grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Reese; she is also survived by daughter-in-law, Christine Welch Murray. She was preceded in death by her son, Don Welch, two sisters and three brothers.
